A new study by the Institute for Research on Philanthropy (IRP) has found that Lion and the Lion King are now the highest-rated films of all time.
In fact, the film has now become the second highest-grossing film of all-time behind Avatar, according to the IRP.
“Lion and the King” has grossed over $2.8 billion at the box office since its release on April 9, 2018.
The film, which follows a group of orphans who are taken into a zoo, has earned over $3 billion at its worldwide box office and made $1.7 billion at domestic box office.
The movie is currently in production for a sequel, titled “Lions” which will be released in 2019.
